City of Trenton Assessor’s Calendar

2020
December 15 – December Board of Review, 9am, for the purpose of qualified errors, hardship and disabled veterans exemptions. (Assessment appeals are not heard).

December 31 – Deadline for owner that claimed a conditional rescission of a PRE for second or third

December 31 – Tax Day for 2021 property Taxes

2021
February 22 – Deadline for Business Personal Property Statement filing; either the Form 632, Personal Property Statement or Form 5076 Small Business Taxpayer Tax Exemption Claim.

February 23 – Assessment Notices mailed.

March 1 – 2021 Assessment Roll shall be completed and certified by the Assessor.

March 9th, 11th, 12th – Assessment Appeals at March Board of Review for residential property. Day Sessions: 9am-noon and 1pm-4pm

March 10th and 16th – Assessment Appeals at March Board of Review for residential property. Night Sessions: 3pm-9pm

June 1 – Deadline for Commercial & Industrial Assessment Appeals to the Michigan Tax Tribunal

June 1 – Deadline for filing Principal Residence Exemption (PRE), fka homestead, for the summer tax

June 7 – Deadline to notify protesting taxpayers in writing of the Board of Review Action

June 30 – Classification appeals to STC. A classification appeal filed in writing using form 2167 (L-4100) Property Owner Petition for Change of Property Classification

July 20 – July Board of Review, 9am, for the purpose of qualified errors, hardship and disabled veterans exemptions (Assessment appeals are not heard)

July 31 – Deadline for Residential property to further appeal their March Board of Review Action to the Michigan Tax Tribunal

November 1 – Deadline for filing Principal Residence Exemption (PRE), fka homestead, for the winter tax

December 14 – December Board of Review, 9am, for the purpose of qualified errors, hardship and disabled veterans exemptions (Assessment appeals are not heard)

December 31 – Deadline for owner that claimed a conditional rescission of a PRE for second or third year

December 31 – Tax Day for 2022 property Taxes
